This barrio took a beating last night by the hands of a flood and a mudslide. As this our first hands-on experience with a deadly disaster, we are still attempting to comprehend what has truly happened. We see containers of water being shuttled. We see people scavenging for what is left of their belongings. We see a dazed look on many faces. We feel it. We smell it. Yet, I don't think we comprehend "it". Right now our water isn't running and we have heard 4-5 days before it is turned back on. At least our house didn't float away. And I don't think we will ever comprehend "it" until our house is floating away.
